Ozark Mountain Apis Mellifera
My Hygienic Italian apis mellifera originate from an apiary located in Jesup, Ga. that has a blood line going back over 100 years, H&R Apiaries-Roberts Bee Company.
I received my first packages in the spring of 2010. We raise high quality hygienic queens, workers and drones. We practice an integrated pest management program to control pests and diseases in the apiary. I use essential oils, powder sugar, spices and other natural treatments to aid in the control of pests and diseases.
The stock that I use for the queen rearing program has survived in the Ozark Mountains USDA zone 6a since the spring of 2010. They have been tested for Varroa mites throughout the years. The mite loads in the fall 2018 were light to none. A 2019 microscopy for Nosema was done with a 0% spore load. The bees have a low Varroa mite count due to the Queen's hygienic traits, hive management and geographical location of the apiary.

Pure Raw Honey
Fall 2012
We sell only pure raw honey. We do not use heat when we extract our honey. Raw honey is defined as honey that has been processed with as little heat as possible. Raw honey tends to granulate on its own in a short period of time. Granulated/crystallized honey is still good. Heat it up in hot tap water and it will return to normal in a short period of time.
