Recommendations for Nucleus Colony Pickup:
1. Be sure your beehive is assembled and painted and ready for your bees BEFORE your pickup day. You should
also have the hive location selected and prepared in advance.
2. A Nucleus colony generates significant amounts of heat.
The nuc box has ventilation holes, so the bees will be able to keep cool during transport.
The bees can easily die if left indirect sun or in a non-ventilated area.
DO NOT transport in the trunk of your car on days warmer than 75 degrees.
3. Bring protective clothing (veil, gloves, etc) depending on your level of comfort with the bees.
Some bees will escape the box.
4. Feeding the new colony is essential for building comb in a new hive.
Continue feeding 1:1 sugar syrup and pollen patties until the colony has brood in all stages of development.
(1:1 sugar syrup using pure cane sugar is recommended)
5. Please contact us if you have any inquiry's about your order.
